My kitten is so so precious to me, and I rarely let her outside. This particular time I was watching her, as was a friend of mine who was over. I don’t leave the balcony door open when I’m not right there with her, Marie will be with me for the next 2o years! :)

Perhaps I’m pointing out the obvious here, but your balcony is not cat friendly!
Make sure you are watching her all the time when the door is open or she might just try and catch a bird or insect and jump off, not realizing how far of a drop it is.
