The ladies over at The Coveteur have partnered with Holt Renfrew this season for a visual stunner: 12 of their most “drool”-worthy shoes featured in that signature Coveteur style.

An excerpt from the ladies: “Resulting in a photo exhibit, as well as a window installation at Holts, the photography and styling of The Coveteur has culminated in a two week exhibit of our brand, showing off the closets and goodies of both local and international talent. Our official unveiling last night was an ode to twelve shoe vendors whose products have made us drool with lust, but more importantly, have created a photo gallery for your viewing pleasure. Here’s our union, in visual form. Ladies and gents, may we present you with The Coveteur x Holt Renfrew.”

Oh, how the Fall does cometh with brilliant things and make thee swoooon.

Last day of August you’d expect to be wearing shorts and a light blouse, no? Not here in Vancouver where it’s sitting at about 15〫C. But I don’t mind, I’ve been missing layering up, wearing my beloved trench and cuddling under blankets at home. Fall, welcome back!

(Don’t hate me. I’m just not a Summer girl.)

Last week was a big one. I made a big decision and I’m about to embark on a new adventure; I’m finally going to go into business for myself. This announcement is a little premature considering I don’t have the goods to back it up yet, but it’s in the works and I am a firm believer that if you put what you want out there into this big world of ours, it has to come to fruition sooner or later. (Hopefully sooner.) So I treated myself to a bouquet of yellow roses.

Roses which I then arranged into my wine chiller. Have you gotten your hands (paws), on a copy of the September issue yet?? It’s a goodie! Though I haven’t gotten all the way through it yet. Taking it in bit by bit. I love September!

This video was put together by the folks at Westfield Shopping Centre to celebrate the grand opening of a centre in Stratford City on September 13th. As you can tell, it celebrates a century of East London fashion!

I came across the video on My Modern Met, with this quote from the team that put it together: “Directed by Jake Lunt with The Viral Factory, the film was shot over 4 days in east London locations with hundreds of costume changes. The music was commissioned from Oscar nominated genius Tristin Norwell who took a simple tune and interpreted it for each decade over 100 years.”

Love the idea!

This deserves to be shared. Didn’t know Raquel Zimmermann could dance like that… kinda makes me want to put on my most expensive designer items and hit the dance floor!

{ I’ve had a love affair with this leather studded belt since the day I brought it home. The year was 2007 and it was a quick purchase at Zara as I’d just bought a pair of jeans that were a little loose at the waist, and of course I needed to wear them immediately. It has since become that piece that goes with everything, whether tied around my waist with a dress or buckled up around my hips with a pair of jeans. Just looking at it makes me happy! }

I’ve finally given in and created a Facebook page. Now I have a place for out takes, videos and more contest postings! I’m quite excited about it! If you would, I’d so love it if you’d give it a look, perhaps click that magical little button that makes me happy. You know, the “love,” I mean, “like” option. If we’re friends on Facebook and that’s where you get your daily dose of StyleStruck, please be noted I will be moving those post updates over to the page, rather than sharing them on my profile. I’m doing a little house cleaning.

If you have an outfit question, a comment or perhaps you want to send in a tip you think the readers, or I, would like, or maybe you’d like to share what you’re wearing today, please take it to my page!

This girl gets my love for navy knitwear. #KindredSpirit

This is Vogue Market Editor Jessica Sailer, a young lady with a lot of shopping wisdom – she seems to have a knack for finding the hottest sales! Givenchy lace up booties? Check. All the right Celine pieces? Check. Check out her other 4 looks in “5 Days, 5 Looks, 1 Girl” on Vogue.com! I particularly love this Prada Sport sweater Jessica wears, it’s an older piece that she inherited “years ago,” but it’s one of those timeless pieces that will always look chic and can really be paired with just about anything. How about white denim, or red denim, black trousers or a sequin skirt. I’d love it all.

(Posted now, written earlier at 4 pm…) This morning I took off to Vancouver Island to visit my Dad for a weekend on the water. I know you’re not supposed to wear heels on a boat, but wedges don’t count, right?

{ Wearing: H&M poncho/cape, Zara trousers, Nine West wedges, Fossil watch, Armani glasses }

I aimed to pack light this trip, bringing a small black nylon Le Sport Sac bag as my weekender with only the essentials. And of course my iPad with its adorable faux croc black patent case. Oh and some books! I’m particularly enjoying Stephen Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” for his perception on life and thoughts on how to better your relationships with others as well as yourself. A recommended read! As I write this I’m sipping a glass of red looking onto the ocean towards Vancouver and the Sunshine Coast. It is so perfectly peaceful and quiet here and exactly what I needed after an intense week. Thursday night after one of “those days” I bought myself a bouquet of yellow roses and every time I look at them they make me smile. That’s one of the ways I unwind, how do you relax? Read your favorite magazine with a glass of wine? Sit in the sun? Light a delicious candle and pour yourself a bath? These simple things are some of life’s luxuries. I think we should all treasure the time we have to be with ourselves, enjoying our own company and taking pleasure in something small. The rewards are big! : )

I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend! Cheers!

Wearing: Cynthia Rowley silk dress (purchased in 2008 in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village), suede bag from Aldo (circa 2007), Nine West gladiator wedges (bought these ohhh about 3 years ago), Dorothy Perkins chain necklace (from London), Armani sunnies. Also wearing H&M studded bracelet and rose gold Fossil watch. And Dior lipgloss! Can’t forget that. }

Friday morning and a giant milky coffee. I am so excited for the weekend, mostly because I just realized yesterday that tomorrow would be Friday! Haha… Same as how last night I commented to George that I didn’t understand how come both sides of the front of my button-up chambray shirt had buttons… Isn’t one side supposed to have the holes? Oh wait. I was looking at my shirt with the buttons done up. I’m okay with you knowing I did that. George had no words for me. I am also excited because tomorrow morning I get on that big boat to head to Vancouver Island to visit my Pops on his boat. Happy weekend!

About a week ago (boy, time sure does fly!), I went to visit the Know?Show at the new Convention Centre at Canada Place. The Know?Show is a lifestyle trade show featuring shoes, apparel, backpacks, jewelry, good music and a slew of interesting people with very unique style. Recently I posted a picture snapped of me by Ian Azariah for the Know?Style blog, (I wore those 5 inchers all around the show. Intense!). Here are my favorite sights from the show:

{ Up above: For Spring/Summer 2012 Jansport has brought back a vintage feel to their backpacks. Check out the leather pieces, the straps and the zippers, so cool. I want one of those bags. Above: What we have come to know Jansport for in recent years; a line up of brightly colored makes-me-happy backpacks. Particularly the orange one. }

{ Above: I really enjoyed this mannequin. To me it says: lazy days at the beach on the Sunshine Coast. I also very much want to pair those frayed shorts with high, high heels and a blazer. Or glittering heels and a white button-up shirt. }

Memories: I’m gonna share a quick thought with you. Being at the Know?Show and seeing a lot of skate brands brought me back to a time when that was my world. I hung out with a downtown crowd of skaters, read the magazines and even tried to get on a board, unsuccessfully, every now and again. My style changed to reflect my lifestyle, as it usually does, and I’m not sure that I can say it suited me. It was, um, “eclectic.” But when you’re young you’ve just got to experiment to see what fits. Turns out I’m most happy wearing the same kinds of clothes I did back when I was a kid: preppy, pretty pieces. (I’m not still “young,” am I? Doesn’t feel like it.) Isn’t it nuts how life can change so dramatically in just a few years.

{ Two things I like in a bathing suit: a great print and underwire cups. Not because I believe in pushing the girls up to my chin, far from it. But the underwire looks cute, like cute in a 1950s pin-up kind of way. Especially with this rouched, high-waisted bottom! Want! Swimsuit by celebrity-coveted label Vitamin A. }

{ This Levi’s white denim jacket caught my eye. How about pairing it with a white knit turtleneck of sorts? And dark denim, or maybe grey denim. There’s something about white in the fall and winter that I just love, it seems so cozy (just as long as it’s worn layered and in heavy fabrics). }

{ Pretty, delicate long necklaces from Uranium, a Montreal-based jewelry company. I love layering these kinds of necklaces, especially over a white tank with a black blazer. Ooh, and then maybe slim army-green cargo pants and nude heels. Mmm hmm! }

{ A simple shoe that carries a lot of interest. I love the colours Pointer has used for their S/S 2012 collection; lots of neutrals with well-thought out execution. I really like that they’ve mixed suede with leather and used laces of the same colour – wouldn’t you want to see your man looking stylish in these? This pair is also pretty fab for the girls; style them with your dark skinnies, a huuge chunky scarf and a fitted blazer. }

Hope you enjoyed these snapshots from the Know?Show!

Ever have those weeks where you are in a bit of a mad rush to get yourself accustomed to a routine that is unfamiliar and in your haste completely forget to blog for four days? Well I do, and this week was it. Being back from a month in Europe, I feel like everything has changed. Perhaps it’s the new appreciation I have for the French way of life. Oh Paris, how I miss you. Let’s reminisce for a moment shall we; a look back at my visit to Principality of Monaco

{ Top to Bottom: Strolling through Monte Carlo by the Chanel store – note the Chanel planters, the Grand Prix circuit through Monaco, a dance school named for Princess Grace, a decadent dessert served outside the Hotel de Paris and Monte Carlo Casino (needless to say it was a very, very expensive treat) and the harbor, filled with yachts. }

{ Wearing: Diane von Furstenburg eyelet wrap dress, Gianni Chiarini bag, Zara flats, Michael Kors watch and Armani sunnies }

If you visit Monaco, I highly recommend dressing up. I thought I looked the part, but I felt severely underdressed, particularly in Monte Carlo where the Casino sits high atop the hill. There millionaires parade their luxury cars, overly-groomed and tweaked women and bedazzled pets around as status symbols and the women carry Dior, Hermès and Louis Vuitton as if there wasn’t any other option. Oh yes, now I know why I felt underdressed, I forgot my Birkin! Silly me. ~

The weekend I came back to Vancouver my man, George, planned a few fun activities for us like visiting the Greater Vancouver Zoo and having a couples massage at Spa Utopia. Both were fantastic (swoon). Some may think I overdressed for the zoo, I think: “If the animals look fabulous in their prints and colors, why shouldn’t I try as well?” I particularly envied the pythons and the crocodile, though of course seeing them (and all the other animals), in their cages was disheartening.

{ Wearing: pink transparent net shirt which I purchased before a trip to Europe when I was 16 from who-knows-where-but-isn’t-it-great-I-can-still-fit-into-it, white H&M tank, pleated leather skirt from Zara, Christian Louboutin sandals, Marc by Marc Jacobs purse, necklace from a small one-off shop in Paris and ditto with the aviators }

Thank you for reading, you are fabulous. If I could, I’d pin a badge to your shirt that says, “Hello, I am Fabulous.” Pin it on for me because StyleStruck readers are Fab-u-lous. If you’d like more, I occasionally share my thoughts via a twit. I mean a tweet. (And if you want to ask me anything, Twitter is a good place to do it!)

I had a chance to stop by the Know?Show yesterday and meet some awesome people, one of which was street-style photographer Ian Azariah who snapped me for the Know?Show style blog! Being a self-employed (I pay myself in high heels), means having to pose for whoever I’m with – making for some questionable photos. (By questionable I mean highly unflattering and sometimes rather off – always include the shoes please, no one needs to see all that sky!) It was a real pleasure to be photographed by someone who knows exactly the style of photography I’m after!

Cassis was a dream. It was about an hour by bus to get there from Aix and one of my favourite places we visited. The town was small and quaint with few tourists but lots to see with the busy market, the boats and of course the beach. Cassis marks my first time in warm, turquoise waters.

Dining in Provence was a dream; sitting outside in the town’s small squares with copious amounts of chairs and tables grouped around their respective restaurants, a warm breeze and a light chatter in the air and of course a glass of French wine in front of you (when in France, do as the French do!)

{ Aviators purchased at a small shoe store in the Marais district in Paris for only €10 }

And despite being in France, all I wanted was a cheeseburger, which somehow I got.We had a beach day planned for the following day, but this American classic was sooo worth it. (Generally when a burger was listed on a menu it meant the French version: rare beef patty, cheese and some garnish on the side.)

Wearing: Dress found at Winners for about $20, sandals and aviators from the Marais district, Gianni Chiarini leather bag and Michael Kors watch }

Mmm sanguine orange sorbet (blood orange) }

{ Evidently I’ve acquired a real taste for treats! }

Missing Provence and all of its lavender goodness.

Visiting Printemps (the French luxury department store), is hard work, there is so much fabulousness is such a gorgeous space, a fashionista just doesn’t know what to do with herself! Well this fashion-lover did. She took herself to Ladurée in the accessories department for a treat!

Mmmm Les Macarons Glaces (chilled macarons with rose petal sorbet!), quite literally the best dessert I have ever had. Ever.

My bag that day, by Franchi. See my look in my last outfit post.

Doing a little web surfing, tweeting and Facebook-checking, and I found this! Yay!

Ipanema Canada is an innovative and very much a philanthropy-based company that creates fun and uniquely designed sandals. They’re currently working with Gisele Bündchen on a collection of sandals – well now, if there’s someone who can sell sandals, I’m betting it’s Gisele! Very fabulous.

Thank you Ipanema Canada for the feature! I’m loving the style of your write up! (Click the image to see the feature!)
