About Me
First, a story: I remember the first time I obsessed over what I was going to wear, I was 5 and my mum said I wasn’t allowed to wear my gymnastics bodysuit to school, (Kindergarten). She said it wasn’t appropriate, or something along those lines that a 5 year old would understand. I looked at myself in the mirror and thought, “But this bodysuit looks so good! Nice neckline, shows off my figure, I will wear it to school!” So I put on my Sesame Street sweat suit over it and wore that bodysuit to school. And of course promptly took the sweater off when I got there.
Fast forward 17 years and here I am today, a fashion-social media-public relations-obsessed blogger who can’t stop collecting shoes and all things vintage. (The shoes are just about everywhere. But that’s fabulous).
After graduating in 2006 from West Vancouver Secondary School, I started at Kwantlen in the Fashion Design and Technology Degree program. I had thought I wanted to be a designer but upon spending many late nights sewing on the finicky industrial machines trying to complete self-designed garments, I had had it with being a designer. So what next? I took a year, or so, off to figure it out, and then enrolled at BCIT in their Public Relations Marketing program, and am loving it! Ideally I’d like to do PR for a company within the fashion industry, first in my home town of Vancouver, then in Toronto, New York or Paris. Hopefully my vision of “StyleStruck goes international” will pan out in the next couple years!
In the mean time, I post about people who inspire me, my style, my life and anything out there that intrigues me and is fashion-related. Thanks for reading!
