Thoroughly enjoying a few days away in Whistler’s winter wonderland. Everything is white (much the same as Vancouver right now!), and there are enormous icicles hanging on rooftops. Women are dressing up their cozy looks with cute hats, fabulous scarves and chic winter boots. I’ll take this over a beach any day.
This Tuesday at 7:30am catch me on Breakfast Television for a fashionable segment on how to dress thin – find the right fit for the right occasions! Just after me will be our Mayor, Gregor Robertson!

Spending the day attending appointments, a Main St. meeting and making cards. One fab thing about my line of work: everyday can be casual Monday, or dressy Wednesday – it just depends on what the boss says (me).
FYI – The next and last shipment of LOVE + MARK’D Christmas orders will mail on Thursday, arriving in the Vancouver, Lower Mainland area by Monday, Dec. 21.

Snapped strolling along Alberni St. this morning en route to FedEx – George (a.k.a. boyfriend), recently ordered custom suits from Indochino and they’ve just arrived. Has your boyfriend taken interest in Indochino??

Snail mail is fabulous! When was the last time you received a special card in the mail that was made just for you? It sure doesn’t happen as often as we’d like. I can’t tell you how much I hate those pesky white envelopes with your name showing through the window, printed by some computer is some office. Charming. Make your best friend’s, your Mum’s, your Dad’s, or your boyfriend’s day and put a little love in the mail! It’s such a sweet surprise!
This morning I woke up to a cat walking up my side while I was lying in bed. Marie likes to wake me up by strutting up my legs and then perching on my hip, so I can’t move. Typical cat strategy. The sun was (is) shining through the window and I thought, perfect time to get out the iPad. Sifting through my Twitter stream I came across an article from The Huffington Post Style: Style.com‘s new print magazine (cleverly entitled Style.com/Print), is now available at all overly priced, too-cool for anything but the latest of the latest shops, like Colette in Paris. (Again, how come we don’t live in Paris?) Anyhow, so I read through the fab article and started browsing the site, clicking tapping on the “Style” homepage and BAM! There it was. My article as a “featured blog post.” Well I’ll be. Brilliant start to the day!
P.S. The Doctor’s Closet and Alicia Fashionista have some proper paper-style treats for you… Oh, enough with being coy, they’ve each got a set of LOVE + MARK’D stationery to give away tomorrow! Better enter. (Another reason to love these women: they’re also following their own entrepreneurial pursuits! We really love that.)
Sometimes fab-tastic emails hit my inbox; one landed last week from Flare’s Assistant Digital Editor, Ryan Michael Chung. Flare Magazine was looking to do a feature on their site with Canadian bloggers wearing Canadian designers! So I eagerly packed up my Joe Fresh, my boyfriend (photographer and serious giver of support and good laughs! And dream boat. He knew yesterday was a big day and so came home with the enormous Harper’s Bazaar Greatest Hits coffee table book! Swoon.), and my camera and headed off for the Lions Gate Bridge – a quintessential Vancouver landmark for a seriously Canadian piece!
