We were waiting for our cab to arrive when I pulled out the camera for an impromptu photo shoot!
Wearing: H&M ribbed tank top, B.B. Dakota tiered skirt, Browns ID patent leather heels, rose gold bangle from Blue Ruby, white enamel bangle from Macy’s. Marc by Marc Jacobs quilted clutch, Aldo hoop earrings, Joe Fresh nail colour. Much more eyeliner than usual and a good dose of bronzer. (And half a can of hair spray between us.)
Stephanie is wearing a vintage crop-top, my vintage high-waisted leather shorts, Louis Vuitton purse and wedges, brand unknown.

Out and about in downtown Vancouver for lunch during this crazy heat wave, (bento boxes at Urban Sushi), and cooling drinks, (Murchies’ un-sweetened iced tea).

Last night, Chanel hosted a cocktail, (or champagne), party at their new beauty and fragrance bar in Holt Renfrew. The space is GORGEOUS! It is truly a Chanel wonderland of sparkly lip gloss, perfume galore and the latest Shanghai collection of nail polish. I’ll have to be careful about going near it, as I know I’ll be bound to find a few, or a lot, of things I just have to have! The party-goers last night were an eclectic mix of local celebrities, (Erin Ireland, Elisa Estrada), Chanel clients, beauty gurus, PR pros, bloggers and people from the office of Chanel.

Last night what seemed like hundreds of fabulous Vancouver people joined together at the Renaissance Hotel’s 360 Room in support of YEF, Youth Education Farms, a non-profit founded by UBC grad Mr. Riley Mari. YEF’s mandate is to purchase farms in Swaziland to run as businesses that employ, nourish and finance the education of youth in the African country. The model is a brilliant example of sustainable philanthropy and I am grateful to Riley and his board for bringing it to our attention!
The goal of the event last night was to raise as much money as possible to build additional farms in Swaziland, YEF already has one working farm. I’m not sure how much the event raised, but I did see some wonderfully high figures below the items during the silent auction! I won’t also mention that a certain notorious Vancouver business man offered my date 1 million dollars to take me on a jet to vegas. Unfortunately I had to pass, I just can’t whore myself out in the name of philanthropy. It was all jokes, of course. But in seriousness, the event made for a fantastic evening of raising money, seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Congratulations to the YEF team for all of the good work you’re doing!
And because this is a fashion blog, here is what I wore to the YEF event!

Below: Check out this fabulously fabulous woman, Joan Gusola, mother of Hayley and Katie Gusola! She has such an amazing taste for clothes, point-in-case: her shoes. It takes a fashionista with some serious cred to pull off such a fun look as this vintage Cheap and Chic Moschino soccer ball jacket. So appropriate with all the soccer frenzy going on right now. I love a woman with a sense of fashion humour! I hear she has an AMAZING vintage collection. I die.

Casually strolling through my living room in a vintage rabbit fur/sheepskin vest, zipper-edged bow belt, (faux) leather pants and Chanel heels. Naturally this is a regular Saturday activity for me.

This vest and these pants are two of the birthday gifts I got for myself on Friday while shopping on Main St. at Front & Co. LOVE that shop.
My beloved Chanel shoes, purchased on a summer trip to New York City in 2008.
The belt, which was taken off a B.B. Dakota dress I got in New York on the second and latest trip, November 2009.
