As in, WHAM! You’ve been bombarded with PINK and fabulosity. Haha. Would that be a adverb or an adjective?
Yesterday morning I stepped out in the gorgeous blue sky day wearing my vintage fur chubbie, perfect for a clear, cold day, even if I get weird looks when I wear it. I picked up the sign I ordered for my window, a real-life version of my blog banner, which will live in my apartment post window display, and some hot pink tissue paper and grabbed the bus (and then the sky train, and then another bus-I had cheese buns with me for sustenance), to Barefoot Contessa at 21st and Main St! Soon as I got there I ran around the store pulling everything I liked, which amassed to quite a collection, specially when I had to whittle it down to only 4 looks.
The Barefoot Contessa brilliantly asked a number of fashionistas to style a window on behalf of their blog, with each display up for a week at a time. I am so happy to be included in that group!
The before shot of the window:
Step 1: Brand that window:
The lovely ladies at Barefoot Contessa: L: Kimberly Irvine, R: Jen Ho
My finished window! I chose outfits that I felt reflect me and my personality. Of course I used sequins, leather and leopard. Duh. And, I know, it’s really hard to see the clothes with that obnoxious reflection on the glass… I’m going to have to drive by at dark and snap a new photo when there’s no possible chance for a reflection.

I adore shopping bags with pink paper. I wish all stores would give me that so I could walk around swinging fabulous, fluffy carrier bags. Delightful.
As you Barefoot Contessa fans already know, there are two windows at the Main St. location! The other window was styled by Alexandra Grant of To Vogue or Bust.
Thank you to Barefoot Contessa for having me style a window! I LOOOVVVED doing it! (Note to other shops: Call me.)
Now go check it out: 3715 Main St. Our displays are up til next Wednesday!

Friday morning bright and early my family out here on the West coast, (Mum and twin), flew out to Edmonton to visit Mum’s side of the family. She has five brothers and a twin sister too, which makes for a lot of cousins and even some little second cousins! I’m back home now with Marie, but it was a great trip and I sure do love catching up with everyone, especially over a giant turkey dinner!
Monika, (my twin), en route to Value Village for Halloween costume inspiration! We didn’t find any…

Playing with my little second cuz, Andrew, and again in the video. Andrew’s older brother Blake is meaning to take a photo of Andrew and I, but accidentally hit video. Cute little guy!
It was a short trip over the long weekend, but certainly well worth it! What was your favourite part of Thanksgiving? And did you say what you’re thankful for? I’m thankful for my family and friends, my kitty and everything else that makes up this life that I’m so happy to live.
Oh, and I was so worried about my lack of fitness over the weekend due to a tv thing happening tomorrow, I even squeezed in a run. Yep, TV! Not for StyleStruck.ca unfortunately, but a segment on Urban Rush for Fidelity Denim! I’ll keep you posted on the details of when the show airs!

Saturday afternoon we headed up to the very northern tip of Manhattan to Fort Tryon Park where the wedding was being held. The ceremony was beautiful, outside in a park overlooking the river. The guests sat on white chairs facing an open area surrounded by lovely trees and listened to acoustic guitar as the wedding party walked down the aisle. It was such a simple and sweet ceremony, which allowed the guests to really focus on the words exchanged. When I get all fancied up in a big white dress one day, I think I’ll do the same, leave the focus to the sweetness of the day rather than an extravagant decor.
The lovely bride, Lauren Bucquet in Lanvin.
After the ceremony we walked down a small hill to the park restaurant where the reception was held, and were greeted by servers offering these adorable drinks: Arnold Palmers (iced tea and lemonade), with bourbon
The reception was held under a large white tent, which had small lights strung across the top, sooo romantic and pretty, and also quite 1940s looking. I adore that idea. Here is Tommy, the best man, giving his speech to the guests under the romantic tent:
And you may recognize these boys…
David Neville and Marcus Wainwright, co-founders of the Rag & Bone label! LOVE their clothes, and love them. Lauren works as a designer at Rag & Bone, as seen here.
These boys were so lovely to meet and chat with. David began by introducing he and Marcus by saying they were in the fashion industry, and had a “small operation.” Lovely and modest! I told him I was familiar (and obsessed, though I left that part out, after all, I was trying to keep my composure), with their clothes and thought they were wonderful. Then David asked me who made my dress! I sheepishly said, “Well… I’m sorry I’m not wearing Rag & Bone…” and he said, “Oh well I know we didn’t make it!” So then I told him it was BCBG and he said he liked it. And I will now forever remember that he liked my blue dress. : ) I should mention a note to the ladies: I’m sorry to say, both David and Marcus are married! Marcus’ wife was at the wedding and she was also very lovely!
I wore: BCBG dress, vintage belt, vintage rings, Stuart Weitzman heels and my vintage Pierre Cardin snakeskin clutch – I know you know the one!
After dinner and speeches, the night was spent dancing to music from the 60s through to the 90s, it was a fabulous night!

Standing at the entrance of Capilano Golf and Country Club in West Vancouver, ready for a wedding!
Saturday afternoon Tommy, (my date), and I got all dressed up for a wedding on the hill. I chose a red bandage style dress from BCBG Max Azria with yellow Zara faux snakeskin heels, (5″), a vintage Pierre Cardin snakeskin clutch and vintage Rayban sunnies while Tommy went for more of a “running for prez” kind of look. Nothin’ like a navy jacket and tie! You’ll notice I’m wearing a rather low-cut dress, like I mentioned earlier about my crop top, this isn’t something I do often. But sometimes it has to happen, for me this was the dress that said, “BAM! I’m here!” Now back to my regular programming of t shirts and blouses.

The groom led the bride onto the dance floor for the first dance… that dress was heaven.
Love weddings!!

This outfit was worn to enjoy Friday night cosmopolitans at the Opus Hotel in Yaletown. All day I had been wondering what I should wear, we were going to be meeting up with quite a big group in the Velvet Room and I wanted to look fabulous. At the last minute I settled on this outfit, deciding that I needed a print moment. The women thought my outfit was a dress, so I suppose the two pieces were a successful combination!
Wearing: BCBG Max Azria silk heart blouse, (as previously seen at Chanel), Zara silk snakeskin print skirt, Marc by Marc Jacobs clutch, vintage ring, Stuart Weitzman nude pumps
And for a little kitty update:

Marie is a happy, healthy and ever growing kitten! Happy home over here with little Marie!
Till next time,

Last night, Chanel hosted a cocktail, (or champagne), party at their new beauty and fragrance bar in Holt Renfrew. The space is GORGEOUS! It is truly a Chanel wonderland of sparkly lip gloss, perfume galore and the latest Shanghai collection of nail polish. I’ll have to be careful about going near it, as I know I’ll be bound to find a few, or a lot, of things I just have to have! The party-goers last night were an eclectic mix of local celebrities, (Erin Ireland, Elisa Estrada), Chanel clients, beauty gurus, PR pros, bloggers and people from the office of Chanel.
Niki Blasina, of A Haute Mess, and me at the event! Love this girl’s style, and fierce boots!

With Ryan Bazely, of PINQ.
DJ Blondtron, a.k.a. Samantha Mathews spinning for Chanel.
Maria Jose Hernandez Cos and Nadia Chu of String Magazine with Marilyn Wilson of Vancouver Fashion Ezine.
The fabulous Niki and I went for a little Granville stroll after the party.
Wearing: BCBG Max Azria silk top, B.B. Dakota skirt, Chanel sandals, Marc by Marc Jacobs clutch, Fossil watch.
Thank you to the PR & Event team at Holts and at Chanel for putting on such a wonderful party, and for inviting me! And THANK YOU for the swag bags!! Eeee CHANEL USB STICK! Best thing ever!
Now off to play in the sun!
