That’s why I’m wearing denim cut offs, obviously. Another day working from home! Today I am a woman of few blogging words as my pile of to-do’s continues to mount (happily), but I wanted to give you a little look at what my day-to-day at-home work outfits look like.

These fantastic and stupidly comfortable shoes are my latest purchase from Aldo, or rather, the Aldo outlet! They’re practically giving away merchandise at 50% off the lowest marked price right now. Nuts! That’s some feel-good shopping right there.

Wearing: Guess by Marciano hoops, Zara shirt, H&M vest/top, vintage denim cut offs, tights from Mum (Sears), Aldo wedges. Fossil rose gold watch, White enamel bangle from Macy’s. Sunnies from Ruby Tuesday in Whistler and my favourite pink Dior lip gloss from ages ago.

Okay, off like the computer-addicted techy I’ve become. (But I still want to be a cute techy.)

Friday morning I awoke with a mission: do not let last night’s festivities affect today’s adventures! I feel as though I was rather successful. I don’t have a picture of my outfit for the day, so I’ll just tell you what I wore. A bright peachy orange dress-jumper from French Connection with white leather Zara flats and a sequin purse with a chain strap. And biiig shades to cover my tired eyes! (3 pairs of aviators, the only style of sunnies I like, for $10!) We hopped in a taxi to SoHo where we found a very quaint and charming restaurant serving breakfast sandwiches on fresh croissants and mimosas. Sooo good! After breakfast I was left on my own to shop around, and boy did I do that. First to TopShop where I found a great Rodarte-esque cardigan and 6″ platform heels with a great floral pattern. I also picked up a bracelet and three adorable old Vogue images, with mattes and frames from street vendors. A very successful shopping day! Afterwards I went along home to take a nap before heading out for a big dinner downtown. Here’s what I wore:

Matthew Williamson for H&M wrap dress, Guess by Marciano gold hoop earrings, Marc by Marc Jacobs clutch, Aldo elephant ring, Fossil watch, Stuart Weitzman nude pumps.

After dinner there was no hope of rallying for a second night out, off to the land of dreams back at the Ace.

- End of Day 3 -

With Lindsay Lorimer, Project Manager, Special Events and Marketing woman for Guess? Canada and Niki Blasina blogger of A Haute Mess and co-host! (Be sure to check Niki’s blog for event coverage as well!)

Thursday night a crowd gathered around the entrance of the Marciano store on Robson St, waiting to be let into a fabulous party co-hosted by Niki and I to celebrate Guess by Marciano There was wine, cocktails and delicious h’ordeuvres being passed around as a DJ played the latest tracks, and what seemed like hundreds of people to mingle with. Amongst the crowd there were fashion editors, stylists, both corporate and freelance, club promoters, marketing pros, CEOs, real estate agents, models, bloggers galore, PR people, fashion aficionados and mega-shoppers! Not to mention, the lovely representatives from Dress for Success, the non-profit we partnered with in putting the event together, (Dress for Success received a portion of the profits from the evening’s sales). Thank you to everyone who came!! The night was such a wonderful experience and I feel so lucky to have been a part of it!

Niki and I with the Guess? Canada head honchos, all the way from Toronto for the event!

Andrea Pahn, founder of Cheeky Monkey Cosmetics was on site to give girls a mini mani with her brilliant polish!

With Liz Sperandeo, a member of the board for Dress for Success, and a Dress for Success volunteer. Guess? asked Niki and I to choose a non-profit to work with, and who better than Dress for Success?! “Dress for Success® Vancouver is a registered Canadian Charity that helps low and no income women to transition into the workforce by providing professional attire.”

Second from left, stylist Dani Barnes of Dani Barnes Productions.

The swag!

Lovely fashion & lifestyle photographer Christine McAvoy!

Dessert: amazingly delicious mini cheesecakes… No I did not have three of these…

The outfit: Thank you to Guess for Marciano for allowing me to choose an outfit for the evening! In response to some of your questions, yes I got to keep it. : ) Head to toe Marciano, (except for the watch, that’s mine). I love this colour! Reminds me of a Tiffany’s box!

Cheers to a fabulous party!

I mentioned in an earlier post that I wore a Guess by Marciano dress to the JK Models 1 Year Anniversary Party at Leone that had a marvelous back to it. Well here it is! Photos by Christine McAvoy!

With Katie Mogan, a.k.a. The Urban Stylist and fashion professional! Also with Jennifer Sharon, Director of JK Models.

Checking in with Jennifer while seating guests for the show! It was a busy, busy night, but I sure love working an event!

I’ve been eyeing this trend for some time now, always a little on the fence about whether or not I liked the idea of a woman in clunky mens’ style shoes, until now. Seems GUESS by Marciano knows how to turn a mens’ style shoe into something a little more feminine. Wouldn’t these cream suede oxfords just be perfect with a little flared skirt and tshirt, or rolled up khakis and blouse, or leather pants and tunic or … you get the idea. I think they’d go with just about everything.

I want. Happy Shopping!

p.s. Did I just post about FLAT shoes?? Well that’s a first.
