Ready for Fall! No posts this past weekend, I spent the weekend away with my boyfriend on my Dad’s boat on the east coast of Vancouver Island.
{ This is by no means a fashion shot, it’s boat-wear: Talula army jacket, H&M mens’ sweater & white tee, Dynamite leggings (not worn as pants as my sweater and jacket cover everything), Coach sneakers, New Era hat, no make-up (Eeek.) }
{ A quick pic of me at the Global Party last Thursday night at Opus in Yaletown. This was taken in the Penthouse suite. Wearing: Diane von Furstenburg dress, Marc by Marc Jacobs Clutch, Fossil watch, Chanel silver heels (link includes a Chanel DIY fix-it, which I used the day of the Global Party!). More pics to come! }

{ Wearing: Vintage blouse from Front & Company, Zara pants & shoes, vintage Ingledews snakeskin bag, bracelets: H&M, New Look (London), Michael Kors watch, Armani sunnies }
As I type this I am savoring a brick of lemon tart – it’s literally enormous, I shall be sitting here on the Thierrypatio for quite some time. Oh, the sweet afternoons of summer.
Very much looking forward to the Standing Armed show tonight – especially seeing the bloggers out in full force! See you tonight! I’ll be live posting pictures from the show (the clothes! The Who’s Whos in attendance & the bloggers! Oh my!), on my Facebook page this evening!
Shot outside of JJ Bean in Yaletown after a nice morning coffee (skinny vanilla latte), and a fresh croissant. Mmmm.

- Posted using BlogPress from my iPad – how fabulous!
Hello darlings (dah-lings), as the Brits say.

{ White linen blouse from Brooks Brothers – have you seen their blog?? You must! - Zara skirt, vintage Pierre Cardin clutch, Zara flats & Fossil watch }
Dressed and en route to dinner in Chelsea with my girl friend’s family who live here in London. They took us to Bluebird, a fabulous spot in the Chelsea area that was quite a “see and be seen” kind of place (a fashionista’s favourite). Everyone dining there was very smartly dressed, from their designer shoes to their coiffed hair and perfectly casual rolled up shirts on the men. Men take note: the Brits have one over on you in style; everyone wears a nicely tailored colourful shirt (pastel shades), tucked into classic dark denim, suede loafers, a gorgeous leather belt and some sort of smart hair style, usually a side part. It’s all very dapper here in England. (I must make a note though, that my boyfriend also dresses this way and so for that I swoon and say thank goodness and lucky me – a Vancouver man who really knows how to dress. Let’s go off on a wee tangent for a moment: last Saturday night boyfriend, a.k.a. George, picked me up to go to Joe Fortes for dinner wearing slim dark denim, a white collared shirt under a grey sport jacket complete with a slim back tie, black leather shoes and a roly. I died. So, so pleased!)
We are currently staying in London’s Kensington area where you find rows upon rows of gorgeous white town house with black gates and fresh flowers. It’s really quite a beautiful spot of London, we’re lucky to be staying here!

“You are sooo Samantha! I am totally Carrie.”
“Nuu uhhh! You are soo Charlotte! With a little Samantha, but more Miranda.”
“How could you say that to me?!”
Just a snippet of Girls Night conversation – don’t act like you’re discussing world politics or who you volunteered with last week. I suspect after the SATC chat your convo moves onto boys, clothes and job aspirations! Well that’s what my group of girlfriends talks about anyways.
Recently Palm Bay reached out to me with a request to review their new spritzes. Umm, perhaps I should have told them I’m already a fan of Palm Bay and every night at the beach last summer was spent sipping Palm Bays out of pink straws. But the spritzes are brand new, so I got my tasting on. Sip, sip, slurrrpp mmm yummy. Then one day, sitting there with my nicely chilled Palm Bay I thought with the four new flavors of Spritzes, and each with its own distinct coloring and taste, why don’t we turn this SATC conversation into PBS conversation. So tell me, what flavor of Palm Bay Spritz are you?
Are you the Exotic Beachy Babe?

You love to run with wild abandon into the sunset, swim in the ocean and let the salt water turn your tresses into beachy waves. Animal prints and textures (like these snakeskin textured Zara sandals), speak to your adventurous side and accessorize your bohemian personality (just like this vintage tie-dye scarf does). You’re the girl who’s up for anything and everything and will always take a cold imported beer or a Palm Bay Pineapple Mandarin Orange Spritz over a fussy cocktail any patio-lounging-afternoon.
Are you the Classic Lady?

Strawberry and Pineapple go together like pearls and diamonds, or like cheap and chic – a smart lady knows that style starts with a smart mix of high and low, like these black patent leather Elie Tahari heels and this satin H&M scarf. How do you accessorize your petite beverage? With pink straws naturally – they save your perfectly lined and glossed lips from any nasty smudges. You’re the girl who doesn’t blink when trouble arises and will only step out coiffed and heeled just so. You have our envy.
Are you the Bold & Feisty Adventuress?
With just two clicks of your sequined Miu Miu heels your imagination runs away with you, you’re swept into the land of all things exciting, full-flavored and mix-matchy! You die for print on print and change your hair color and style regularly. Stagnant isn’t in your dictionary, but thrill-seeking and shock-value are. Your feisty personality is the lime to our cocktail, the cherry to our whip cream covered sundae. So no better bevy for you than a sweet and sour mix of key lime and cherry.
Are you the Fabulous 5th Ave Girl?

“I’ll have a side of Cartier and Tiffany’s with my non-fat, half-soy, extra shot, extra foam latte,” you say. Your cream leather birkin matches your just-highlighted blonde mane, as do your silver Chanel heels and diamond tennis bracelet. Manhattan is your epicenter and your playground and only 5-star restaurants and town cars will do. You believe in being well-heeled and the classic nooner – as in a cocktail at lunch of course (likely at Cipriani, STK in the Meat Packing District for after-hours play time). Ruby (jewels, always jewels), grapefruit is the perfect antidote to your midday boredom, as is a stop in at Prada, which may as well be your middle name.
So, which one are you? Find your flavor at all of our fine BC Liquor stores and let me know, is it just the right mix for you?
Cheers!
Love, StyleStruck

Outfitted for the Canada Day City tv and e-beauty party tonight at the Opus Hotel.

{ Wearing: Brooks Brothers linen blouse, H&M shorts, vintage leopard print pony hair belt (from here), vintage Pierre Cardin snakeskin clutch, BCBG Generation heels, fish cocktail ring from Aldo, Michael Kors watch, Stella & Dot silver ring, gold ring from Blue Ruby. Pearl studs. }
Tonight City tv and e-beauty hosted a party for people-about-town, bloggers and editors to become acquainted with e-beauty, Canada’s new and ultimate online shopping destination for beauty products. I’ve already found a few things that I want…

{ With Arpen Thandi and Kendall Titchener – admittedly, not my best angle, but that’s okay. Up above: swag bags, in the middle: my date’s hand (Liz Sperandeo), reaching for the chocolate filled macaroons! Yum! }
Time for bed, and by bed I mean I’m going to tuck myself in on the couch for a bed time story, and by bed time story I mean I’m going to stay up a bit late watching the first (and only sadly), season of Cashmere Mafia.
Nighty night,

Last week I visited the South Granville location of Bellissima to pull a few outfits for photos for their blog (I am a contributor). One of the outfits I selected is this adorable white, floral-patterned Exetera top and these high-waisted Frank Lyman trousers. Together, these garments felt very clean, very chic and were giving me a “lady in Cannes” vibe, so I went with it. Coco Chanel was a lady of the Mediterranean sea and worked as my inspiration. Naturally, I started my accessorizing with my Chanel platforms. Then added a diamante camellia cocktail ring (Aldo), simple pearl earrings, elegant tortoiseshell style sunnies (Armani Exchange), and a vintage box snakeskin purse. A simple chignon and a slick of dark pink Chanel gloss completed the look I was going for. I felt the pictures came out so well (thanks to my handsome photographer George!), I wanted to share them with you as well. My Bellissima outfit posts will be on the Bellissima blog next week, be sure to check them out!

Sighh, a lovely afternoon spent pretending to be in France… But I shall be there soon enough! T-minus 6 weeks till take off!

Friday afternoon and Marie and I made our way over to my sister’s apartment where Marie will be staying for the next four days – the man and I are headed to Seattle! Dressing this morning, I felt very inclined to slip on some high-heeled sandals and these Louboutins certainly fit the bill. Comfortable and fabulous in one gorgeous package.

This tote I’m carrying was a parting gift from the Michael Kors at Pacific Centre opening party a couple months ago. Love the red accents.
Wearing: Massimo trench, Zara sweater, vintage pony hair belt, vintage dress, Christian Louboutin shoes, Michael Kors tote, Michael Kors tortoise-shell watch.

Photos by my sister, Monika. Check out her blog here!
This is going to be fantastic weekend with a full line up: tonight I will be taking myself to the Bill Cunningham documentary (a girl needs a date with herself once in awhile). Tomorrow morning I’ll be picking up the most gorgeous sequin dress from Monika’s then watching the man’s rugby game in the park with girlfriends and later attending a friend’s graduation party at Coast. And I’m just getting started, Sunday we leave for Seattle for a lovely little get-a-way and I am beyond excited! It’s so nice to get out of the city, even for a couple days. (And HELLO Nordstrom Rack!)
Have a wonderful weekend!

I present to you some of my most treasured bags: (and my cat)
Apparently, what’s mine is Marie’s.
This collection of bags has come to me over the past four years, mostly from vintage shops around Vancouver.
You’ve seen this bag before – vintage Pierre Cardin, purchased from Deluxe Junk in Gastown for a fraction of what it’s worth. This bag doesn’t seem to wear down, I’ve taken it everywhere and paired it with everything from yellow snakeskin heels to Uggs during a winter outing, circa 2008. It accompanies me on all big occasions – what doesn’t snakeskin pair well with? it’s basically a neutral!
This little piece of candy, by Franchi, was something I had my eye on for weeks at Holts, and then my sister bought it. So I didn’t. Then, when I got my Miu Miu sparklers (seen in last post), I regretted not having it because obviously it wouldn’t have been too much to wear them together… or so I then thought. Anyways, my sister has recently been cleaning out her closet in an effort to downsize and gifted me with this adorable little bag for my birthday! LOVE! I see it with nude mary-janes, or perhaps a new pair of neutral snakeskin platform peep-toe pumps, those would be my perfect shoes. Do they even exist??
This leather alligator-printed bag was a find at a Main St vintage shop. It finally came home with me two months after I first saw it, a surprise gift! It is Italian leather and surprisingly completes many outfits – I love the graphic look of the print. Fabulous.
I’m quite sure you’re familiar with the yellow Kate Spade, it’s become a clear favorite. The other, the little pink vintage eel skin clutch is from Value Vintage about 2 years ago when I had first moved to Haro and Bute and Robson shopping was just a hop, skip and a jump away. I would go shopping in the mornings before work, which is actually how this blog came about – an early morning trip to Starbucks and Value Vintage. On that note, happy 2 year anniversary to this blog!
With summer just around the corner, and hopes of making it across the Atlantic to France and England, I’m pinching my pennies. Hence a post featuring bags I already own and plan to use in fresh ways, as I plan to do with all my clothes. Actually, as you might assume, I have amassed quite a collection of clothing over the years, and this spring when I pulled out the S/S boxes from under my bed to switch the winter clothes into, there were so many pieces I had forgotten about! I’m looking forward to styling them into the current trends! (Confession: I can’t stop shopping. I’ve bought a few new things lately, and then the guilt becomes so overwhelming as I know that money should go towards my being able to sleep somewhere in Europe that I return the items right away. Fashion torture. I can’t even go near the shops. Don’t even mention Zara to me.)

This is how I like to experience this city – outside, in the sun. In the very blustery sun, most of the out-takes from today are me with my hair all in my face, or rather, my lip gloss. Standing just near the lighthouse in Stanley Park, we took in the view this morning with fresh Delaney’s coffees (mine a vanilla latte). There’s no better coffee break (11:30 am), on a Monday morning.

Wearing: Zara cape, black Zara cardigan, gifted Banana Republic silk dress (S/S 2011 collection – in stores now!), H&M tights, Express knee-high socks and Michael Kors “Olivia” suede slouch boots. (I bought these boots at the wise old age of 19, partly because I love a good slouchy suede boot, but mostly because of their name. Instead of waiting for the delivery of an online purchase, I impatiently purchased them from Holts, at a mark up, of course. Four years later and I still love them – I’m quite certain my taste has been very much the same since I could pick my own clothes.) Vintage Ray Ban sunnies, rose gold bangle from Blue Ruby and leather bracelet from an NYC SoHo street vendor.

Afterwards I set up shop at the Giovane Cafe (Fairmont Pacific Rim’s cafe), and clickity clicked away on my computer in their sunny window. Posted today is my first post as a contributing blogger to the Bellisima blog. Please have a look!
Oh, and spotted in the April 14-20th edition of The West Ender are your four blogger hosts from the Guess party! Hurrah! Thank you to “Out After Dark” social columnist May Globus for the inclusion!

I love this JNBY (Just Naturally Be Yourself) shirt dress. It feels professional and preppy, but totally man-friendly at the same time (think: thrown-on boyfriend’s over-sized shirt). I recently wore this outfit (sans clutch, but with my pink Kate Spade bag), to meet and talk with my high school fashion teacher’s grade 11/12 sewing class. (Which was fantastic! And they have an upcoming fashion show that I’m excited to attend! Ohhh memories!).

I mentioned a little while back that I recently wore this dress out for dinner to my favorite Greek spot here in the West End. That time though I paired it with cobalt blue suede strappy heels, a darker blue version of this Marc by Marc Jacobs purse, no belt and messy hair (it was man-approved!). As with all JNBY pieces, this dress is incredibly versatile and can be worn in more than one way!
Wearing: Gifted JNBY shirt dress, vintage pony hair leopard printed belt (from Darling in NYC’s West Village), Marc by Marc Jacobs purse, Michael Kors watch, rose gold bangle from Blue Ruby, suede Rockport boots (I’m really having a moment with these boots right now), vintage Ray Bans, Cargo lipgloss (thanks to the fabulous people who put the Guess party swag bags together!).
A casual stroll in English Bay, hellloo spring time!!
This dress was a wonderful gift from JNBY, many thanks! Their wonderful head visual merchandiser Raffaele recently took me through a look of the Spring 2011 collection and it is fantastic. Lots of amazing casual shirts and jackets just waiting to be dressed up with a belt and a great little skirt or printed leggings. I think I’m going to have to go back for one of their very original origami-inspired skirts too!
Find JNBY on South Granville, West 4th, or in Metrotown!

Spring, are you here yet?? I only just got this BCBG MAX AZRIA vest last week (as a result of my BCBG Max Azria spring 2011 collection preview – many thanks!!), but am already OBSESSED with it. Last Thursday I wore it to the office with a white shirt and jeans, I have plans to pair it with a fitted BCBG Max Azria red dress and today it felt right with this lovely Jason Wu S/S 2010 silk pleated skirt (the skirt that was originally $1635 – obviously NOT what I paid).

Wearing: BCBG Max Azria vest, vintage skinny gold leather belt, Jason Wu skirt, Poetic Licence heels, red OPI manicure & pedicure.
I’ve been learning how to better use my camera! These pictures are the result. My cousin was in town visiting this weekend and he informed me that I’m likely using 5% (or less) of my cameras capabilities. Naturally.
As Sunday night comes to a close, I’m reflecting on what a lovely weekend it has been thus far: Friday night was spent at Goldfish celebrating a girlfriend’s 25th birthday and Saturday night resulted in a delicious dinner at a local Greek restaurant, for which I dressed the part: a white JNBY shirt dress (pictures coming soon!) and towering blue suede heels.
Tonight I did my taxes. But at least I did my taxes while wearing Prada.
Tomorrow is the dreaded Monday, find a way to make it special. Perhaps a favourite coffee in the morning, slicking on a deliciously bright lipstick or just checking in on your favorite blog on the way to work for inspiration.

p.s. APRIL 6th IS THE GUESS PARTY ON ROBSON ST. – MAKE SURE YOU RSVP!
A little while ago I mentioned that Jamie Hodge and I went down to Kits to shoot some photos, well, here they are! Jamie is ridiculous with a camera, and by ridiculous I mean amazing. Check out her other work here!

Wearing: Zara cape, plaid shawl from Winners, Wilfred wool dress, H&M tights, Aldo wedges, vintage locket necklace purchased from a street vendor in SoHo, NYC and sunnies from H&M.
These photos were taken a little while ago, maybe early February when even the sun couldn’t warm the chilly air. Being down at the beach on such a crisp, gorgeous day was glorious, and all the more fun to play and snap photos! Jamie and I experimented with some jumping photos (you know the ones, Vogue is infamous for the “casual jump-and-pose” photos). I haven’t seen any of those yet, though realistically my attempt was probably more akin to a flail than a jump-and-pose. I’m no Caroline Trentini, after all. (That’s a September Issue reference right there – the model who was jumping with the camera man, I believe his name was Bob.) Nonetheless, when said photos do surface, they’ll show up here right away.
And did I mention that Marie has a penchant for avant garde head gear?
Truth is, my little cone head was recently spayed. And she was such a good girl through the whole ordeal. Meal time was a challenge though, Marie couldn’t figure out how to maneuver her plastic cone around the food dish, so every morning we had breakfast together…
But the little miss is back to her happy self now! And sans head gear.
Best be off now, come visit us again soon,
Xo StyleStruck & StyleStruck Jr.
This outfit is comfortable, comfortable, comfortable. (The boys have it so good.) When the rain comes I tend to feel more androgynous; your clothes suddenly have to be practical and for me that means items that can get wet and will layer well. I snapped these shots just as I was headed out the door to run a few errands, and get some air – I woke up sick this morning but even so I can’t stay in all day, I’d go nuts! Not feeling well usually means that I’m too lazy to do anything with my hair, hence the casual up-do, which I rather liked with the outfit in the end. To feel a little feminine I slicked on a few coats of a luxurious lipstick: Chantecaille’s “Super Nova.”

And out the door I go! (You’ll notice I still have those decorative little silver balls hanging in my window form before Christmas time, I still love them! But they will be coming down before March for sure. Which, btw is the month of my birthday. March 5 in fact, which means balloons and pretty paper and dressing up and clinking champagne glasses!)
Wearing: Zara leather bomber jacket, H&M scarf – Men’s department, vintage Liz Claiborne Sport shirt, Fidelity Denim cargo pants, H&M leather belt – Men’s department, Aldo wedges. Leather Zara clutch. Necklace from a bin at Macy’s years ago in NYC, link bangle from the bottom of my jewellry box. (I’m horrible at remembering where I pick these things up!)
I recently spent a day with Jamie Hodge taking photos on Kitsilano Beach, I can’t wait to post them! She’s in the editing process at the moment, but hopefully soon! Here are a couple she sent me as teasers:

Wearing: Simply Irresistible Leopard print sweater, Dynamite white tank, studded leather belt from Zara, Fidelity black waxed denim, Steve Madden patent leather buckled boots. Fossil watch, vintage ring from NYC. Pink MAC lip colour seen here.
This morning I woke up to the smell of fresh sheets, it’s one of my favourite things ever. Last night I crawled into bed and lit a delicious Soapology candle, with a scent called “morning dew,” making my room smell even more delicious. (I also watched The Bachelor as I enjoyed the romantic candle-light with Marie. I’m a sucker for that show.) I did a little work from bed, oh the luxury of a lap top and working from home, and then finally got on with the day, starting with a few pictures. Leopard and leather called to me this morning. Now I must be off to run around town checking errands off my list!
What little things make you happy on these never-ending cloudy days?
Xo StyleStruck

That’s why I’m wearing denim cut offs, obviously. Another day working from home! Today I am a woman of few blogging words as my pile of to-do’s continues to mount (happily), but I wanted to give you a little look at what my day-to-day at-home work outfits look like.
These fantastic and stupidly comfortable shoes are my latest purchase from Aldo, or rather, the Aldo outlet! They’re practically giving away merchandise at 50% off the lowest marked price right now. Nuts! That’s some feel-good shopping right there.

Wearing: Guess by Marciano hoops, Zara shirt, H&M vest/top, vintage denim cut offs, tights from Mum (Sears), Aldo wedges. Fossil rose gold watch, White enamel bangle from Macy’s. Sunnies from Ruby Tuesday in Whistler and my favourite pink Dior lip gloss from ages ago.
Okay, off like the computer-addicted techy I’ve become. (But I still want to be a cute techy.)

I couldn’t stand it a moment longer. I HAD to have a Kit Kat bar. Had to. I’ve tried to resist for days now, but tonight as I lay on the couch, all I could think about was the chocolately wafery goodness of a Kit Kat bar. So I popped out for one. This is what I wore to visit the grocery store.
Wearing: Vintage plaid (reversible) cape from Woo Vintage in Gastown, Fidelity denim, Alternative Apparel hoodie under cape, nude leather Zara flats and Marc by Marc Jacobs quilted clutch. I’m so into a high ponytail right now, probably because it’s the first time in years that I’ve been able to have a ponytail at all. Does anyone remember what my hair used to look like?? I barely do, seems so long ago now. I’m really into the minimal make up look lately, hey? Remember to remind me that eye liner was invented for a reason.
I’m catching up on a quick bit of homework before my girl Stephanie finishes work and meets me downtown for a little trouble, err, fun. For fun and some shimmies on the dance floor. Clink! Cheers!

Upon looking through my list of favourite bloggers it seems to me my style is a little different. A real mish-mash. I have no idea what to call it though, as I’ve said before. It just is. At some point in my life I’d like it to be more define-able. My top 3 fashion bloggers all have such a fashion identity: Aureta, Emily and Kelly. Here’s what I’m wearing today (mostly), as I fiddle with various programs on my computer at the local coffee shop:

I haven’t shown you my feet because I’m not wearing any shoes. I couldn’t figure out what shoes to wear with such an outfit, and I figured that by the time I figured it out I could have a whole blog post posted. Due to my shoe dilemma, I ended up switching the leather skirt for a pair of loose fitting green Fidelity cargos and Chuck Taylors. Forgive me, I feel like that’s probably a fashion-blogger no-no. *Slap on the wrist*
Wearing: New Era cap, vintage fur vest, gifted Bilby & Moss long sleeve tee, Zara pleated leather skirt and gold studded belt from Bang-On. Gifted Cheeky Monkey nail colour titled, Back Alley Sally.
Must get back to work now!

These photos were part of the series that Jamie Hodge took back in early Decemeber. I wore this outfit out with girlfriends weeks before, but relished the chance to finally have a legit photographer capture it. I die for a textured, all back look: sequins, faux leather and patent leather. Have I mentioned lately how much I love Jamie’s photography?
Hanging out at the rocks in Caulfield, West Vancouver.
Wearing: Vintage sequin top, vintage faux leather pants, Browns ID patent leather heels.
Today I registered for an online course at BCIT, I’m kind of looking forward to it. It’s been awhile since I took a class though, hopefully I can get my head back in the books! I made a resolution this January to spend more time at home focused on work and school, I am really hoping I can keep this up. 5 days in, and so far so good! I’ve even turned down invites to go out… so unlike me. Must stay strong. My heels can wait a month to dance again!

Wearing: Black v-neck from who knows where – I’ve had it for years and years and cut the tag out ages ago, vintage pony hair leopard print belt from Darling in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village Neighborhood (posted here), pleated leather skirt from Zara, tights from The Bay, suede-buckled boots found at Winners. Dior Haute Couleur Lipstick in #361 - my new favourite!
